Ethics & voice consent
A voice is personal.
We treat it that way.
Voice cloning can help people be understood across the world, and it can be misused. So we hold ourselves to a few simple rules, and we put them in writing.
Our six principles
- 01
Consent comes first
We only create a voice model when the speaker has clearly said yes. No consent, no clone. That applies to every speaker, on every plan.
- 02
Your voice is yours
A voice model is used only to dub that speaker's own content. You can ask us to delete it at any time, and we will.
- 03
AI audio is always labelled
Every dubbed video carries a clear AI-audio label, so audiences know what they're hearing. We never help pass synthetic speech off as natural recording.
- 04
No impersonation
We don't create voices of other people without their permission. That includes public figures, and it includes anyone who hasn't agreed. Dubs made to deceive are not allowed.
- 05
A human decides what goes live
Nothing is meant to be published until the speaker or their team has reviewed it. You see every language before your audience does.
- 06
Misuse has consequences
If someone misuses OmniDub, we investigate, remove the content and close the account where needed. Anyone can report a concern, and we take every report seriously.
Always visible
The OmniDub label
in plain sight.
This is the kind of disclosure attached to a dubbed video. Clear, plain and impossible to miss.

How voice consent works
- 1
The speaker agrees
The person whose voice will be used gives explicit permission. Not a manager, not a client: the speaker.
- 2
Consent is recorded
We keep a record of that permission, and tie it to the voice model we create.
- 3
Use stays within scope
The voice is used only for the dubs the speaker approved, and can be withdrawn at any time.
What we won't do
- Clone anyone's voice without their permission
- Make dubs designed to mislead, defraud or harass
- Imitate public figures or politicians
- Strip the AI label from dubbed audio
- Sell your voice or your videos
See something wrong?
If you think someone's voice has been used without permission, or you've found a misleading dub, tell us. We read every message.
